The Certificate in Indigenous Studies is a 24-credit program that allows students to engage in Indigenous Studies while pursuing degrees in other areas. The certificate can be taken with any undergraduate degree program at York, including MIST (for students who wish to specialize in streams other than Indigenous Studies but would like to receive credit for Indigenous Studies courses as well). The certificate is coordinated by Bonita Lawrence.
Please check the course requirements for the at certificate for more details.
If a course that is primarily about Indigenous people has not yet been listed as a certificate course, it is possible to receive certificate credit for this course. Please contact the coordinator, Bonita Lawrence to ensure that this can be done.
